General Info

Burr Ridge is a town of 10,000 that straddles Cook and DuPage counties, about 19 miles southwest of Chicago. This relatively new community was open farmland until the 1950s, when the village of Harvester was incorporated on a former pig farm. In 1961, additional land was annexed, and the village changed its name to Burr Ridge.

Today, Burr Ridge is a growing bedroom community that serves the bustling city of Chicago. Along with quiet subdivisions and upscale homes, the village has five office parks and retail areas. Elementary students are served by Gower Elementary District 62, Community Consolidated District 180, Hinsdale Elementary District 181 and Pleasantdale Elementary District 107. High school students attend Hinsdale South High School or Lyons Township High School.
